Encampments

To report an encampment:

  • Contact City staff by email. Provide as much information as possible regarding the concern.

City staff actively tracks and responds to encampments, prioritizing those with safety and health hazards. 


Abandoned Trash, Debris, or Litter

To report abandoned trash, debris, or litter:

  • For a private property like a residence or shopping center, contact Code Enforcement by phone at 510-494-4430 or by email.


Mental Health Crisis

To report an individual experiencing a mental health crisis:

  • For a non-emergency, contact Fremont Police by phone at 510-790-6800, option 3.
  • For an emergency, call 9-1-1.

The Mobile Evaluation Team (MET) will respond to these calls of service. MET typically includes Fremont Police, a crisis intervention specialist, and a social worker from Washington Hospital. 


Abandoned Vehicles

To report an abandoned vehicle:

  • For a private property like a residence or shopping center, work with the property owner as they are responsible for removing abandoned vehicles on their property.


Persons Having Unauthorized Access to Vacant Building or Site

To report a person having unauthorized access to a vacant building or site:

To request support services for persons who may be at risk of becoming homeless or who are experiencing homelessness:

  • Contact the Family Resource Center by phone at 510-574-2000.
