Community Alert System

Community Alert on PhoneThe City of Fremont uses a Community Alert System, AC Alert, which is provided by Everbridge. The AC Alert system is Alameda County’s Emergency Notification System and is the new Mass Notification System for Alameda County. AC Alert provides the ability to deliver emergency alerts and non-emergency notifications to targeted geographic areas or the entire city. AC Alert is an automated phone calling system that currently contains land-line phone numbers for most residents and businesses. The community is encouraged to enroll additional information to receive notifications by email, SMS (text), and cell or work numbers by registering at the AC Alert website.

AC Alert Program Overview

The City of Fremont has launched the new AC Alert mass notification service. This service allows us to quickly alert you in the event of local emergency or critical incident taking place near you, and provide information as to what protective actions you may need to take. Additionally, the AC Alert System can be used to provide notifications about other local incidents and events to those residents who have signed up to receive them. You simply opt-in to this free service, enter your contact information, and subscribe to notifications you're interested in based on your location, or locations of interest to you such as your place of work or your child's school. The information you provide is protected and will not be used for any other purpose.

How AC Alert Works

When the City of Fremont issues a notification about a potential safety hazard or concern, you will receive a message on the voice, text and/or e-mail communication methods that you have provided when you registered. In most cases you can confirm that you have received the message and the system will stop attempts to contact you on the other contact paths you provided. If you do not confirm, the system will continue to attempt to reach you using all of the contact paths that you have provided.
